This weekend was a low pressure, low ceilings VFR, windy and bumpy. Due to maintenance and weather, I couldn’t fly my aircraft for over a month, so I was excited to finally get into the air. Aircraft performed flawlessly, I did 10kt+ crosswind component landings and enjoyed hours in the air!!

I’ve been 2nd owner of this KTM Duke 390 for over six years and put 9k miles on it. It never failed me and taught me a lot. This was my fourth motorcycle and now is replaced by sixth - the Honda CB750 Hornet.
My asking price is $2,900, but I’m realistic and flexible. This bike is ready to go, nothing needs work, just jump on it and enjoy. This is a perfect first bike or an extra bike for those after work but before dinner quick mountain “brrraaaps” 🏍️.

Upon riding the new Honda CB750 a few times, I knew I made a great choice. A KTM-level-fun bike made by Honda :) It is not perfect, but light and nimble, with an excellent torquey engine, and an incredible value. The first component I upgraded, one on which Honda saved on to make their budget, is the seat.

When looking for a new bike to replace my KTM (baby)Duke 390, I wanted bullet-proof reliability, great value and strong after market support. KTM could deliver only the last requirement, but Honda stepped up to the challenge. The CB750 Hornet finally came to North America in 2025 and was universally hailed as the “bike of the year”. Nothing comes close to it and all the hype IS true!!

Back in the late 90s, when TI already ruled calculators in High Schools, I selected HP48 as my platform. It is a high-end engineering calculator with CAS capabilities, native units, stack based interface and programmable in RPL1.
Recently I purchased a near mint HP48G and again have a physical calculator on my desk.

Today, I uninstalled my Blink security camera. It is a cloud connected device controlled by Amazon Corporation with full access to my recordings. I decided that uninstalling the camera is the most reliable mechanism to ensure my footage cannot be accessed (in the future) for privacy violating use cases (AI training, government overreach, etc).

Aircraft engines need to be protected from moisture to prevent internal corrosion. As their overhaul intervals often exceed 10 years and it is not uncommon for an engine to not operate for months at a time, protecting them from corrosion can significantly extend their operational life.

Saturday was a post-frontal weather day - very windy with active turbulence Sigmets. Fortunately, only areas west of Sacramento had high winds at the surface, while most other area airports had only moderate winds. Up above I saw 30mph winds, moderate turbulence and mountain wave with 1000fpm ups and downs downwind of ridges.

I try to open the year with a January 1st flight, but this year I couldn’t make it due to maintenance. Once the airplane returned into service, I took it up for some pattern practice across three local airports. It was a calm hazy day with an inversion. Did three-pointers and wheel touch-and-goes on a warm 20C January day :)
